Michael Moore AM is the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Health Association of Australia, and is the President of the World Federation of Public Health Associations.
He is the chair of a number of health networks. Michael is a former Minister of Health and Community Care and was an Independent member of the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly for four terms from 1989 to 2001.
He was Australia’s first independent Minister when he was appointed as Minister of Health and Community Care. In 2017 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia.
Michael is a former teacher, small business owner and consultant who holds a post-graduate diploma in education, a master’s degree in population health from the ANU, is a Visiting Professor at the University of Technology Sydney, and an adjunct professor with the University of Canberra where he is a PhD Scholar examining a framework for planning or evaluating health advocacy. He is widely published.
He is also a political and social columnist who has served on a range of academic and community Boards.
